A practice shot for our trailer

In our trailer we plan to create a rapid head movement effect just like the scene in a Misfits trailer seen at 0:22 - 0:23 in the clip below.

When creating our version of the clip, we had to go through a number of stages in order for our clip to become a success. In the first stage our task was to find an area where our actor was able to sit still and not be disturbed. This way we were able to take pictures where the actor is fully focused on what they had to do. During this stage, we had set up a Vinten Pro tripod and connected the Canon EOS 7D camera, this way we were able to take at least 100 pictures, but instead we took 24 pictures just to practice how the effect would come out after we had taken the pictures.

In the next stage, we took the pictures off the memory card and we placed them on our desktop. We then opened up Adobe Photoshop to change the size of our images  to 1920 pixels for the width and 1080 pixels for the height.

After that we opened Final Cut Pro to convert the images into a short clip. We imported our photos from a folder on our desktop. We tried to make the space between the input and the output as small as possible before we moved it into the overwrite. Once we had done this to all the pictures, we clicked on the drop down menu on the bottom left hand of the screen, to show our video filmstrips. Once the filmstrips were shown we then used the razor blade tool to remove a certain amount of frames on each one, to leave just one frame for each photo. Once this was carried out, we modified the speed to make it faster, then we clicked export to use the quick time conversion tool, then we rendered all.

This was our final clip.......
